Skin Balms and Oils

Balms and oils hydrate, detoxify, cleanse, tone and nourish your skin. Balms and oils are an excellent natural remedy for aged, dry, sensitive, toxin abused, sun damaged and troublesome skin conditions such as uneven tone, dryness, ezcema, stretch marks and scars. Steve applies the balm on localised areas or all over the body, including the hair and face, arms and hands, legs and feet, chest and tummy, back and shoulders.

Balms and oils are applied by Steve with his hands while you relax on the couch. Alternatively you have the option of an exfoliating compress (linen poultice) or ribbed glove for additional skin toning through the removal of the top layers of dead skin, or a separate full body scrub enjoyed beforehand.

Choose from the following options or consult with Steve for advice on the best treatment. Please feel free to ask for a quote for shorter treatment times for smaller or troublesome skin areas eg knees, face, elbows, lower legs. The listed treatment times and costs are suggested for a full body treatment.

1. Beef Tallow, Raw Honey, Sweet Almond Oil and Beeswax Balm. A fantastic skin conditioning treatment. Tallow is a natural fat containing ceramides and lipids, derived from grass-fed beef, that's incredibly nourishing for the skin. It's rich in antioxidants and vitamins A, D, E and K and helps restore moisture, so it's perfect for dry and sensitive skin. Gentle, pure and natural, with no artificial additives, it is sustainably farmed in Scotland, the tallow and honey together with sweet almond oil and beeswax- only 4 ingredients and no fillers or nasties. The balm mimics the skin's natural oils (sebum), and has no scent, providing deep, lasting hydration and restoring balance, free from synthetic ingredients such as toxins or parabens common in some skincare products. It is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and promotes skin elasticity and regeneration. It leaves no thick, heavy or greasy feeling.

2. Blue Lotus Flower, Cotton and White Tea Balm. A paraben-free, detoxifying, firming yet light feel to the skin. The blue lotus flower is the sacred flower of anti-ageing, filled with anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatories. Cotton, containing vitamin B, is a skin conditioner and softener, while white tea is effective against sensitivty and pollution, as it targets free radicals.

3. Organic Aloe Vera Balm. This natural cooling balm is made from organic Aloe Vera juice. It soothes, nourishes, and replenishes, and helps restore dry and problem skin. Often applied to stretch marks, scars and sum-exposed skin.

4. Nourishing Oils. Sweet Almond Oil: Light, almost odourless. Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, D, E, protein, and a high percentage of unsaturated fatty acids. Protects, nourishes and calms eczema irritation, dryness or inflamation. Excellent hair and skin conditioner, as well as helping reduce muscular pain and tightness. Grapeseed Oil: Green in colour, extremely popular as a base oil for skin massage, noted for its fine texture and low odour. Contains Vitamin E, protein and a high percentage of linoleic acid (unsaturated fatty acid). It is a gentle emollient, leaving the skin silky without the grease. Rosehip Oil: A beautiful golden red oil, organically sourced from wild plants by Neals Yard Remedies. Again, a high percentage of unsaturated fatty acids. Good for scar tissue, wounds, sunburn, eczema and ageing skin. Soya and Wheatgerm Oil: High levels of Vitamin E, particularly good for dry and ageing skin. Sesame Oil: A clear, yellow oil with Vitamin E and rich in many vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium and phosphorus, proteins, lecithin and amino acids. Very commonly used in India for all Ayurvedic types, for head massage, and for blending herbs. Can help improve skin texture, for example in the treatment of psoriasis, eczema, rheumatism, or arthritis, reduce swellings, alleviate muscular pain, and protect from the sun. Coconut Oil: A light, pale yellow oil widely used in Southern India, especially in the spring. Very moisturising and softening on the hair and skin, it also helps relieve inflammation, and is suitable for dry and brittle hair. Take care for use with sensitive skin. Solid at room temperature, so requires heating to liquify. Organic Caster Oil: Hexane free, organic castor oil is commonly used as a powerful laxative for constipation, straining or incomplete bowel movements; flattening bloated bellies, for killing parasites in the stomach, as a liver detox, and as a skin moisturiser.(eg brightening under the eyes, boosting brows and lashes) as it is rich in ricinoleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid. These types of fats act as humectants and are often used in cosmetics and moisturisers; as a wound and ulcer healer. Castor oil helps heal wounds by stimulating the growth of new tissue, reducing dryness and preventing the buildup of dead skin cells; for acne control, a skin condition that can cause blackheads, pus-filled pimples and large, painful bumps on the face and body. Castor oil's anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory nature help fight bacterial overgrowth and soothe inflamed and irritated skin. With anti-fungal properties, castor oil is often used for dental fungal diseases like plaque overgrowth, gum infections and root canal infections, caused by Candida albicans; for inflammatory control, such as rheumatoid arthritis or psoriasis. Castor oil is high in ricinoleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that has been shown to help reduce pain and inflammation; killing parasties in the intestines, as a natural hair conditioner for dandruff, dry or damaged hair to keep hair soft and hydrated and the scalp moisturised, due to the moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties of castor oil.

Wow! I tried the Tallow Balm on my face and and my facial skin has never felt like this before. My beard is now soft and conditioned, my dark eyes, bags and crows lines have also never looked so good for years! The Blue Lotus Flower Balm on the legs and feet was awesome!
