INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE (SHIROABHYANGA)
Indian Head Massage remains popular at al Covo, partly because you are seated in
front of a fantastic fireplace, with flames in winter, and a candelit mantlepiece. Combining
both Western and Eastern techniques, this treatment helps tone muscles, relieve
eyestrain and headaches, improve concentration, boosts the immune system, and
realigns the higher chakras. Steve is qualified at Level 3 VTCT in Indian Head
Massage.
The treatment helps to eliminate muscular tension and restore joint movement by
stretching and mobilising the tissues of the upper back, neck and shoulders. It
involves traditional Indian techniques to the scalp, neck, face, shoulders,
upper arms and upper back, that include tugging, rolling, stretching, cupping,
squeezing, and acupressure. A choice of traditional base oils is available,
including sesame, olive, and mustard, and ayurvedic oils. The oil is warmed for
you in a traditional brass teapot.
The frequency and intensity of my headaches has decreased since having monthly head massages.
Each treatment has evolved to allow us to work out what works best for me. James
Indian Head Massage is ideal for those with stressful lives, who suffer from anxiety and
headaches, and require a release. The treatment can be carried out with
or without upper body clothes.
Extended treatment times allow a greater range of techniques, and a greater range
of areas, to be treated.
